Where does LingoXR's vocabulary come from?

Vocabulary is grounded in open ontologies published by the National Library of Finland and served via Finto.fi: YSO (general), TERO (health & welfare), and ALLFO (Swedish-language interface to YSO).

Under what licenses is the vocabulary data used?

YSO and ALLFO are used under CC BY 4.0; TERO is used under CC BY 3.0. The full license inventory with version numbers and verification dates is published on this page and downloadable as CSV.

Are example sentences and exercises part of the source vocabularies?

No. Example sentences, level tags, exercises, audio and translations are LingoXR's pedagogical additions layered on top of the source ontologies, and should not be attributed to the upstream publishers.

Example sentences, level tags, exercises, audio, translations into the learner's UI language and any didactic framing around a concept are our additions, layered on top of the source ontologies. They are not part of the upstream vocabularies and should not be attributed to their publishers.

When reusing vocabulary data from YSO, ALLFO, or TERO, you must provide attribution to the National Library of Finland. Copy the relevant template below and include it in your work.
